Balcony projects require assessment of weight capacity, wind exposure, and water source accessibility. Please ensure the area is accessible and clear of obstacles during our initial consultation visit.

Accurate site information allows us to select appropriate plants and materials. We recommend observing your space at different times of day to note sun patterns, which helps determine whether plants requiring full sun, partial shade, or full shade will thrive in your location.

Water Access

Reliable water access is essential for maintaining healthy plants. Flower bed installations require proximity to an outdoor water source such as a hose connection or irrigation system. For balcony arrangements, identify how you plan to water containers regularly, whether through indoor tap access, watering cans, or balcony-mounted hose systems.

During dry summer months in Washington DC, most flower beds need watering two to three times weekly, while container plants on balconies may require daily attention due to faster soil drying in confined spaces and wind exposure.

Space Specifications

Provide accurate measurements of your flower bed dimensions or balcony area. Note any existing features such as trees, permanent structures, railings, or architectural elements that influence design.
